celebrity hugs
So, over the break I met a star! Ok, well, he is kind of a star... maybe...
It all depends on who you ask. He is the comedic genius behind the Allstate
commercials - Mr. BERGWOOD, the tailgate'n fanatic!
I was standing in line in New Orleans at the Allstate Pre-Sugar Bowl fanfest, waiting to kick a field goal for the chance of a lifetime - winning a Bergwood Bobble-head! Can't you just taste the excitement? Well, as it turns out, there are a limited number of bobble-heads, but an abundance of pushy fans trying their best to cut in line. I stood strong, contemplated my approach, visualized the ball going through the uprights, and then raising MY bobble-head in victory. I mean come on, I used to kick at the ol' Tunica Academy. Who wouldn't brag about that?
So, to make a short story longer, let me just say that there was one guy in front of me and only one bobble head left... The kick is up... and... Ugh! He nailed it! I think I clapped, but on the inside I was crying. That is when Bergwood and I made eye contact. I told him how upset I was and the next thing I know - he steps towards me, arms open, and we embrace. Here are some pictures that I intend to blow up, frame, and put above the fire place one day - if the wife allows.

In a time where being famous for being famous is appreciated and most celebrities make me want to say mean things, Mr. Bergwood gave me hope. He allowed me to see that celebrities are people - like you and me - who just want to hug and be hugged! Have you hugged a celebrity today? Give it a try.
