stimulate this
Ok, so we are all somewhat familiar with the recent signing of the "STIMULUS BILL," right? This is an attempt to
rescue our economy from disaster. First of all, this is not a commentary on that bill or on President Obama - he has my prayers and I hope he succeeds as the leader of our nation - rather, this is an observation concerning a different stimulus "law."
While many out there are not convinced about the government's stimulus package and just how effective it will be, we are told in the preceding verse (22) that we are to draw near with a sincere heart and full assurance of faith! WHY??? HOW??? ON WHAT BASIS??? Well, as verse 21 reminds us, on the basis that we have a great high priest over the house of God.
One reason Obama was elected as our president was due to the fact that tons of people felt that he would best represent them! People flocked to follow this man because of his constant message of "CHANGE". Now, if Mr. Obama can empower and inspire change and hope - if he is able to promote service and good deeds within communities - how much more should we be inspired and empowered by our great high priest, Jesus!?

First of all, this is not a commentary on that bill or on President Obama - he has my prayers and I hope he succeeds as the leader of our nation - rather, this is an observation concerning a different stimulus "law."The author of Hebrews writes, "Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds... encouraging one another; all the more as you see the day drawing near." (Heb.10:23-24)

It is only in seeing (through the eyes of faith) such a great High Priest - who though He was rich, yet for our sakes He became

poor, so that we through His poverty might be made rich (II Cor. 8:9) - that we will be convicted and convinced as "Christians" to follow hard after Christ. For he is our highest and greatest Representative! He has represented us perfectly. Knowing this, we are free to attempt to represent Him in a broken world. Sure we will fail and we will represent Him poorly even at our best, but isn't that what GRACE is for in the first place?
If this makes sense to you, please check out our "opportunities" page and see where you might volunteer your "good deeds" and "love" in an attempt to stimulate others in that direction as you represent the One who has already represented you so well.
